I find the beauty in genuine moments from an editorial perspective, bringing a mixture of fine art, portraiture, and photojournalism to every wedding I capture. My aim is to tell a timeless and beautiful story that not only takes you back to that time and place but that will transport you to an even more romantic and softer version of it.

Sydney-siders Steph and Blake travelled up to Bouddi National Park for their amazing engagement session, what an afternoon!! These two were so easy and fun to capture. I feel like we have been waiting for such a long time for this engagement session and the day finally arrived, even though the forecast was rain we went ahead without fingers and toes crossed and it turned out to be a beautiful warm afternoon.

Steph is a flight attendant and Blake is in the Navy so their story is quite incredible that starts with a chance meeting in a bar in Darwin! Steph was on a layover and Blake had just docked… after dinner, the respective groups ended up in a bar called Monsoons’. Steph was with her crew when they noticed a bunch of sailors carving up the dance floor… Blake was cutting loose and caught Steph eye. Steph being shy there was no way she was heading over to talk to Blake even though all of her crew were begging her to go over… but then the song ‘500 miles’ by The Proclaimers came on… you know the song… ‘I would walk 500 miles… and I would walk 500 more… just to be the man who walks a thousand miles… to fall down at your door…’! Steph couldn’t believe it, this song has special meaning to Steph and she has always said she would have this song at her wedding… at that moment she locked eyes with Blake… thought to herself ‘yep… it’s a sign’… threw down her drink… stood up… and walked (not quite 500 miles) but across the dance floor right up to Blake and said ‘Hello’! How adorable is that!! And as Blake says… ‘the rest is history’.

Blake proposed to Steph while on a mini vacay in their favourite spot in the Hunter Valley. While on a winery tour of Audrey Wilkinson Blake pretended to set up an elaborate photo with the mountains in the background so he set up his phone in a tree and while Steph was being distracted – he pressed record – walked over and got down on one knee and asked her to be his forever – his iPhone captured the entire proposal!

They will be married at Enzo Ironbark Hill later this year and we can not wait!
