I find the beauty in genuine moments from an editorial perspective, bringing a mixture of fine art, portraiture, and photojournalism to every wedding I capture. My aim is to tell a timeless and beautiful story that not only takes you back to that time and place but that will transport you to an even more romantic and softer version of it.

Ironbark Hill, Enzo Hunter Valley Weddings

December 21, 2018

Located on the scenic Hermitage Road in the middle of Hunter Valley’s Wine Country is 30 acres of Wedding bliss – Enzo IronBark Hill Vineyard. Whether you are looking for an outdoor ceremony among the Ironbark trees or vineyards, or you’d like to take advantage of the beautifully designed chapel with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the vines, this venue has something for you. On top of that, your reception will be in one of the Hunter Valley’s most iconic buildings, with towering high ceilings complete with chandeliers, sandstone columns and a roaring fireplace. You and your guests will enjoy delicious food and wine, and more importantly, impeccable service.

We have been fortunate enough to photograph many weddings at Enzo, and every time we come back with magic. This venue has all the Hunter Valley elements you could ever want – vineyards, giant eucalyptus trees, and a dirt road that leads West into the most picture-perfect sunsets. Jump into the car and five minutes down the road is Mistletoe Lane, where we can capture the never-ending vineyards backdropped by the epic Brokenback Mountain Range.

The chapel’s immense windows bring a beautiful backlight to you during your ceremony and illuminate your guest’s faces. Enzo’s team are amazing at organising your exit from the chapel with so much energy it is impossible for you guests not to smile and have fun. Throw in some confetti (see what I did there) and your photos will be ready to print, frame and hang on the wall.

Photographing against the stunning design of the chapel is perfect to efficiently capture those family portraits that every wedding must-have. And mingling around outside after the ceremony gives us an opportunity to capture these organic moments of joy between loved ones.

When your guests have wandered off to cocktail hour (likely sampling some of Peter Drayton’s latest vintage) we have the whole property to take advantage of. Following the light can take us through the vineyards behind the chapel where kangaroo sightings are common, or often for a walk down the adjacent lane. These areas are perfect for large bridal parties to break loose, pop some champagne and let some laughter out.

If you are looking for the Hunter Valley’s best wedding photography locations than head five minutes down the road and you are in luck. You have vines forever, mountain backdrops, kangaroos, tree-lined driveways and more. Schedule your photography in the golden hour – the hour before sunset – and bring some love, and these images will be absolutely incredible.

The reception itself is wonderful. During Summer your guests can enjoy the outdoor bar and games on the grass, giving us opportunities to photograph your guests enjoying your wedding. For your beautiful Hunter Valley Winter Wedding, your guests can enjoy the warmth of the fire while sipping on their wines. And let’s not forget the dance floor. Plenty room to bust out your favourite moves while the band plays into the night.

Looking for a venue where you can stay on-site? Ironbark Hill has several options onsite and a few minutes down the road is the incredible Enzo Cottage – one of the Hunter Valley’s best residences. Constructed from hand-carved stone and carefully curated one of a kind materials, not only will you have a unique and memorable experience, your photography will be amazing. From the wrap-around verandah, beautifully lit loft bedroom, or the stunning giant timber doors we have so many options for photos.

Ok. Not technically wedding related but we love coffee and whether its a weekend away to meet your wedding team at Enzo, or the morning after your wedding, Cafe Enzo has been the best coffee spot in the Hunter Valley for over 20 years. Located on the corner of Broke Road & Ekerts Rd in Pokolbin, you will find Cafe Enzo nestled in the Tuscan inspired courtyard at the Peppers Creek Village.

We LOVE shooting at Enzo, Mel and Amiee are incredible wedding coordinators, we highly recommended you check out Enzo.
