I caught up with these two cuties last week for a late afternoon engagement session at Caves Beach! This is one of my favourite locations for engagement sessions, the landscape is always different so shooting there is a chance to create some magic.
I met Jess and Josh a few years ago when I was capturing Jess’ best friends wedding and Jess was the maid of honour… now it’s her turn to say ‘I do’ and we are super excited to be chosen as their wedding team.
Jess has known Josh for a really long time, they actually lived around the corner to each other but ‘officially’ met through mutual friends during high school and pretty much hit it off straight away.
Jess recalls, “One of our first dates was at Shepherds Hill in Newcastle. That day we were hit with 100km winds so we climbed to the top of the war bunkers and screamed from the top of our lungs as the wind was so loud no one could hear us. He said to me, “If you play your cards right… I just might propose to you here one day”.
“A few years later, Josh took me to lunch to celebrate both of us getting new jobs. He had bought me a new dress, put me in the car – blindfolded and drove around Newcastle so that I would lose my bearings. He said ‘don’t ask any questions, just go with the flow’. He leads me up a big hill and told me to take off the blindfold. Sure enough, he was down on one knee at that same spot in Shepherds Hill”
And as they say… the rest is history!
I had a blast with you guys and we can not wait to capture your Hunter Valley Wedding at Peterson House in 2020!
